Ernest was born August 27, 1945 in Catawba Co. to Nancy Lowman Yount and the late James Yount. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Yount and his father-in-law, Clarence Willis Lutz.
He was a member of Royal Chapel Church of God for 43 years and was a very active member in various offices, he was honorably discharged from the US Navy after serving in the Viet Nam War, graduate of CVTI with a degree in industrial management
Surviving are his wife, Linda Lutz Yount of the home; daughter, Michelle Farr and husband, Michael, of Longview; god daughter, Andi Sigmon of Hickory; mother, Nancy Lowman Yount, of Hickory; sister, Carol Yount, of Hickory; brothers, Benny Yount and Scott Yount both of Hickory; mother-in-law, Ruth Speagle Lutz and his 2 loved grand dogs, Rascal and Missy.
Services will be Thursday, June 6, at 3:30 P. M. at Royal Chapel Church of God with Rev. David Smith officiating. The body will be place in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with graveside military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #48.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Bowman, Richie Sigmon, Steve Alexander, William Bracey, Keith Barbour and Bruce Fox.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 – 8:30 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home.
