It is with great sadness that we announced the passing of Dianna Kay Watson Franklin of Vale, on April 23, 2025, at the age of 72. Dianna was born on January 7, 1953, to Jennie Ledford and Dennis Hoover Watson of Grassy Creek, NC.
Dianna met the love of her life and devoted husband of 56 years, Sidney Allen Franklin. Dianna was known for her unwavering determination, strong will, love and support for her family. Dianna was a devoted pet owner, especially to her dog Peppi who she obtained through the passing of her brother, Danny Watson.
Dianna underwent a double lung transplant at Duke Medical Center nine years ago after a long period of declining health. She excelled with great determination every obstacle put before her after her transplant, so she could return home to be with her family.
Dianna is survived by her husband, Sidney Franklin; Mother, Jennie Burns; Children, Shon Franklin companion, Rani Holland; Regina Starnes companion, Mike Campbell; Renae Frey husband, Brandon Frey; eight loving grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Dianna is proceeded in death by her father, Dennis Watson, Brother, Danny Watson and Sister, Sandy Lehmann.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jake Anderson officiating. She will be laid to rest at Catawba Memorial Park following the service.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Catawba County in Dianna’s name.
