Born in McDowell County on July 16, 1935, he was the son of the late Benjamin Young and Lillie Hensley Jordan.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, member of Open Door Baptist Church, formerly Penelope Baptist Church and retired truck driver.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Dean is survived by his wife Yolonda Frye Jordan; his son Kelly Jordan and wife Nancy of Taylorsville; his grandson Grant Jordan of Taylorsville; his brothers Max Jordan and wife Shirley of Old Fort and Carroll Hood Jordan of Lorton, Va. A number of nieces and nephews also survive Mr. Jordan.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Open Door Baptist Church with Reverend Shawn Davis officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral from 12:45 pm to 1:45 pm.
Graveside service will be held, Friday, December 13, 2024 at 12:00 pm at North Cove Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. Reception will follow in North Cove Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 2264 Old Linville Road, Marion, NC 28752.
