Cloyd "Bud" Andrew Benfield

HICKORY – Cloyd “Bud” Andrew Benfield, 82 of Hickory passed away on July 25, 2022 at Carolina Caring in Newton.

Bud was born on May 17, 1940 in Caldwell County to the late Cloyd Benfield and Beatrice Bowman. Bud loved the outdoors and fishing and hunting. He retired from Fredrickson Motor Lines after 31 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Benfield.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Jacqueline Hefner Benfield; children, Kristie (Scott) Haynes, Ryan (Amy) Benfield; granddaughters, Emma McGuire, Katilyn Benfield, Leigh-Ann Bagwell; grandsons, Jacob Adams, Jamie Adams; great-grandsons Hunter Bagwell, Kolton Adams, Aiden Adams; sisters, Brenda (John) Sherrill, Judy (Roy) Gmitter; brother, Jerry Benfield; and numerous other family members.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 3 PM at Bethel Evangelical and Reformed Church with Rev. Ann Webner officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-2:45 in the Family Life Building.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring or Bethel Evangelical and Reformed Church.
