Charles Ralph Hinson

Charles Ralph Hinson of Hickory passed away at Catawba Regional Hospice on March 28, 2013. Ralph was born February 23, 1940 in Lilesville, NC. Ralph was a graduate of East Carolina University with a Master’s in Business Education. He was owner and President of Tarason Labels, Inc. for 23 years. In 1989, Ralph was named Entrepreneur of the year for manufacturing in NC. He was a member of the Newton Conover Rotary Club for many years where he was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow. He served on the Bank of Granite board for two years. He was very active at First Baptist Church of Hickory where he served on numerous committees. He loved his Bible Study class and all the members.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lula and father John Hinson; sisters, Betty Thompson and Shirley Hudson; and brother, Aaron Hinson.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Robin Taylor Hinson; daughters, Nancy Raines and husband Jason of Wake Forest and Brooke Johnson and husband John of Taylorsville; sons, Charlie Hinson of Spindale, and John Hinson of Tuckasegee; granddaughters, Nicole Nelson, Chloe Johnson and Hanna Raines; grandsons, Jeremiah Pendleton, Jason Daniel Raines and Logan Johnson; sisters, Jo Kelley and husband Maurice of Easley, SC, Helen Chewning of Wadesboro; brother, Frank Hinson and wife Lynne of Greenville, SC; and sister-in-law, Rita White of Asheboro.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Oakwood Cemetery.

A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m and the family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
