Hickory-Billie Sue Carter Cline, 93, of Hickory, passed away from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Frye Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health over the past few years. Billie Sue (Miss Billie) was born May 12, 1924 to the late William Moore and Naomi Annas Carter. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Reverend J.T. Cline, her parents, two sisters, Mildred Carter Fox and Lois Carter Hefner, also her brother, Thad Moore Carter. Billie alongside of her husband, Reverend J.T. Cline, ministered as a devoted pastor’s wife to numerous churches in North Carolina as well as East Tennessee for 69 years. After Rev. J.T. Cline’s death, she remained a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Conover. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Gail Cline Morton of Knoxville, TN, Elaine Cline Beal and husband Glenn of Newton, NC; grandchildren, Donna Lane and husband Steve of Corryton, TN, Reverend Dale Leonhardt of Hickory, NC, Denise Sears and husband Vernon of Dandridge, TN; great grandchildren, Krista Lane Trott and husband Matt of Knoxville, TN, Donald Ray Sears of Dandridge, TN, Macie Lane Beeler and husband Shane of Corryton, TN, Haley Lane Beeler an husband Blake of Corryton, TN, Bethany Leonhardt Bryant and husband David of South Carolina, Daniel Leonhardt of South Carolina, Tara Nichole Sears of Dandridge, TN, Jacob Leonhardt of Boone, NC, Aaron Leonhardt of Connelly Springs, NC, twelve great-great grandchildren all loved and beloved by their Nana, and her cherished and beloved sister, Vonda Carter Hefner and husband D.C. of Granite Falls, NC and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 until 4:45 p.m. at the church. Dr. Ed Yount and Reverend Dale Leonhardt will be officiating the service. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to give a special thanks and love to the care givers; Patty Hawley, Deborah Norman, and Dale Leonhardt for all the love and care they gave to Miss Billie making her last days full of peace and joy.
