Betty Marie Sweet York Lincolnton- Betty Marie Sweet York, 69 of Lincolnton went home to be with her LORD on July 6, 2017. Born on August 31, 1947 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Odell and Jessie Deal Newton. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel York. Survivors include her children, Bobby James Sweet Jr. and wife Michelle of Vale, Bernice Sweet Allen and husband Gary Dean Allen of Hickory, Sara R. Lingerfelt and husband Tommy of Lincolnton; step-daughters, Nancy Anderson of Hickory, Sherry Hendricks of Hickory; grandchildren, Derick and Dylan Sweet, William and Stephanie Allen, Keisha Lute, Jessica Lingerfelt, April Lingerfelt, Michael Lingerfelt, Pamela Anderson and Nellie Anderson and four great-grandchildren that she loved dearly. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. The family is under the care of Catawba Funeral Home.
