Simeon "Sammy" Paras Arcilla Jr.

Simeon "Sammy" Paras Arcilla Jr., age 83, of Henderson, Nevada passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023. Sammy was born in Santa Maria, Pangasinan, Philippines to his parents Simeon S. Arcilla Sr. and Lucia Paras. He was raised with 2 older sisters. and 2 younger brothers. He enjoyed swimming and playing with his best friend Mario, cousins and other relatives his age. Sammy graduated from Tarlac High School in 1955. He went on to continue his education where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Accounting; where he enjoyed taking Theology Courses and Mathematics.

On July 30, 1961, Sammy's life would change forever when he married the love of his life. Francisca Ignacio Germar on July 30, 1961 at the Espiritu Santo Parochial Church, in Manila, Philippines. Together the young couple would embark on a journey that would span over the next 63 years. They were blessed with four children, and as their families grew they were blessed with six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

To support his growing family, Sammy worked in Accounting and Bookkeeping. He worked for many years until he relocated to the United States. Later in life he would work in security Until retiring completely in 2018.

Sammy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather whom was devoted to his family and his Catholic Faith. He enjoyed spending time with his family, supported his church with Catholic Renewals; and in his spare time, he liked to watch movies, Filipino TV series, basketball, and eating out. Sammy was a true Patriarch of his family, supportive, compassionate and kind; and will truly be missed.

Sammy was preceded in death by his father, Simeon S. Arcilla. Sr.; mother, Lucia Paras; sisters and their husbands: Lourdes Granil (Amante) and Carmelita Ocampo (Enciano). He is survived by his wife, Francisca Arcilla; his children: Joseph Renaldi Arcilla (Lenie Rosales), Jing Malabanan (Bert), Anna Arcilla; and Simon Allan Arcilla; brothers: Renato Arcilla (Finina Acuzar) and Oscar Arcilla (Leonarda Galandez); six grandchildren: Justin Malabanan (Lindsay Castro), James Malabanan, Jay Arcilla, Rinald Franz Arcilla, Riniel Arcilla, and Reoj Arcilla; and his great grandson, Hayden Malabanan.

A funeral mass for Sammy will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005. Following the funeral mass will be a visitation from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015.
