Sheldon Henrie Carter, age 95, of Boulder City, Nevada passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at St. Rose Hospital; another life lost to COVID-19. Also known as "Shed" to friends and family was born January 21, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Samuel and Emma Carter. Sheldon enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17, and served honorably in World War II.
Sheldon married the love of his life on August 23, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and were sealed in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Temple for all eternity on October 24, 1957 in Los Angeles, California. Shed and Mel moved from San Bernardino, California to Boulder City in 1995 to care for an aging uncle.
Shed was a good friend to all who knew him and at 95, he still had a good sense of humor. The house will be quiet with out him.
Sheldon was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Melvina (Quayle) Carter; four children: Terry, Shelly, Vickie, and Jeff; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
A visitation for Sheldon will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM , both at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 916 5th Street, Boulder City, NV 89005. Sheldon will be laid to rest with honors at 12:00 PM at Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
