Dr. Robert Nyle Adams, D.D.S., Lt. Col USAF (ret.) Devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and friend. Nyle Adams, 79, of Henderson, passed away April 15, 2012. He was born in Kanarraville, Utah August 25, 1932, to Bob and Hilda Adams. He enjoyed summers ranching sheep on Cedar Mountain and attended school in Alamo, NV. On September 18, 1953 he married the love of his life, Joyce Stewart, in the St. George LDS Temple. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for 34 years, and was a dentist in the Henderson/Las Vegas valley for over 40 years. His favorite times were spent with family at the beach or at the mountain cabin. He was an avid reader and a huge fan of UNLV’s Runnin’ Rebels. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many leadership callings over the years. In his special way, he made everyone feel personally valued. He taught us the real worth of friendship and faith by being a true friend and a man who lived as he believed. Nyle is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce; children Shaunene Edwards (Sherrill), Janae Ficklin, Shane Adams (Maura-Lee Albert), Lance Adams (Debbie) & Janet Benavidez; brother, Jim Adams (Sharon); sisters, Vera Jean Giles (Gary), Chyree Stokes, twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, April 20, at Palm Mortuary (800 S. Boulder Hwy.). Viewing Saturday, April 21 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints Chapel, 303 S. Cholla Street, Henderson, NV, with service following at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service will be Monday, April 23, at 12:00 noon, at the Southern Nevada Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City, Nevada.
