Richard Eugene Musser

Retired Major, Richard Eugene Musser, 90, of Henderson; formerly of Boulder City, Nevada, went to be with his wife "Allie" on Sunday, March 14, 2021. He was born June 18, 1930 in Pennsylvania. Richard joined the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 17, and became a bugler, where he had the opportunity to play at the 1942 Orange Bowl. Shortly after, Richard became an infantrymen; where he would participate in the Berlin Airlift, serve in Korea, and two tours in Vietnam; retiring in 1977.

Richard met the love of his life, Alice; while stationed at MCAS, Cherry Pointe, North Carolina, on November 23, 1963. On February 25, 1966, the two blended their lives together at a chapel service in Fort Hamilton, New York. Although they met later in life, the couple embarked on a wonderful journey that would span for 53 years. He and Allie enjoyed many years dancing and cruising; the couple enjoyed over 17 cruises, which took them all over the world.

Richard was an avid dancer and member of many dance clubs, enjoyed his big bands music, and was a talented singer. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, whom enjoyed spending a lot of his time with his daughter, Tina; and his grandsons. He loved animals, especially cats. Richard was fun loving and had a smile and kind word for everyone. The love in his heart was abundant for his family and friends. Richard was a great man and a true role model; completely devoted to his family, his country, and the U.S. Marine Corps.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Allie. He is survived by daughter, Tina and her husband Timothy; grandsons: Chris and Adam "Nic", and his wife, Amanda; and a few longtime friends that were a special part of his life, Susie and Sterling.

A service of honor for Richard will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 1:20 PM at Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.

Due to COVID-19, all government restrictions will be in place, and all guests must wear a mask.
