Miles James McKinzie

Miles James McKinzie, age 23, of Bullhead City, Arizona passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada after a short illness. He was born on June 29, 2001 in Palm Springs, California to Matthew and Melissa McKinzie. Growing up he enjoyed playing outside, Legos, going on trips, RC cars, motorsports, riding bikes, spending time with family, hanging out with friends, and creating all the memories we have of him today. He grew up in Lake Isabella, Idyllwild, and Temecula making so many friends along the way. Miles was so excited to finally become a big brother to Maci a few months before he turned 13.

Miles found his passion for culinary while in high school, taking classes all 4 years and participating in community events to show off his talent. He enjoyed watching cooking shows with his grandma Rohnna and cooking dinner for us several nights a week. Miles graduated from Temecula Valley High School in 2019. He worked at different restaurants cooking delicious food for others to enjoy. His grandma and sister especially loved his tacos. Miles was a kind soul that loved everything about life, caring about and loving others so much as well as his dogs. He enjoyed video games from a young age and was an active gamer throughout his life.

Miles loved the water. Growing up at the lake, camping trips at the upper Kern river, vacationing at the river in Arizona, swimming, and going to water parks. He finally moved to the river after high school where he enjoyed time with family and friends. Living here is where he met the love of his life, his girlfriend, Shelby. They were together several years and she stood by his side through this brief illness that took his life. They loved each other deeply, and he was wanting so badly to walk out of that hospital and go home to her and the dogs. Miles also found an interest and had a new passion in baseball cards, wanting to open up his own card shop one day. Nothing written will completely be able to describe his life and the kind of person he was; Miles will be greatly missed by everyone.

Miles is survived by his parents: Matthew and Melissa McKinzie; sister, Maci; grandparents: James and Carol Ludy, and Todd McKinzie; his girlfriend, Shelby DeLory; his dogs, aunts, uncles, cousins, family friends with aunt and uncle titles, and many many friends.

Miles is preceded in death by his great grandparents his 2nd cousin, Josh "Shrek"; his uncle Tony; and his grandma, Rohnna.

A celebration of life is being planned and will be announced when details are finalized.
