Lorraine Davis

Lorraine Davis, 86, passed away at Kindred Hospital, Nevada on April 12th at 4:00 pm from heart failure. Lorraine West was born on March 8, 1928 to Jerry and Mary West in Chicago, Illinois. Shortly after graduating from Phillips High school Lorraine was introduced to Joseph Roberts by her brother Paul and it was love at first sight they were married in the spring of 1946, Joseph and Lorraine settled in Harvey Illinois and started a family. From their union seven children were born. Luneda, Joseph Jr., JoAnn, Paul, Raymond, Kenneth and Ramona. Lorraine was a devoted Mother as her proudest moments were giving birth to her children. On April 12, 1968 Lorraine and George Davis were married. From this union Kimberly was born bringing the total to eight children. George and Lorraine relocated to Bellwood, Illinois where Lorraine began her rose garden. Lorraine‘s “Green Thumb” became evident when her rose garden grew to more than fifty rose bushes and a vast vegetable garden that was envied by the neighbors. Lorraine’s creativity didn’t stop with the roses she loved making hats and statue art. Lorraine will be especially remembered for her unwavering belief in God. “My loving sister was instrumental in my spiritual growth. Lorraine’s influence was the reason why I decided to stay with the Lord”, Anna Mae Hawkins. Lorraine was a proud member of Miracle Revival Center in Maywood, Illinois where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior on July 1, 1976. Lorraine donated her time as a counselor for The 700 Club and Benny Hinn ministries while attending Debbie’s School of Beauty Culture in Chicago. Lorraine graduated and became a licensed Cosmetologist.. Lorraine’s children surviving to celebrate the spirit of her memory are Rev. Luneda A. Ali, Joseph O. Roberts Jr., JoAnn Roberts, Paul S. Roberts (Florida), Raymond A. Joe (David), Kenneth L. Roberts, Ramona Roberts and Kimberly Anthony (Eric). Lorraine is survived by siblings: Evelyn Allen (Clarence), Cecelia Mc Kenzie (Curtis), Anna Mae Hawkins (Robert Sr.), Dr. Ruth Jackson (Thomas), Rev. Isaac West (Beverly, Rosemary) and Michael West (Cynthia). Preceding Lorraine in death are Paul West (Madeline), Florine West (Antwine, Mc Clain), Jerry West Jr. (Mamie), Rev. Henry West (Anna) and Rosetta Lewis (Wilson, Jimmy). Lorraine is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins family, extended family and friends..
