Jean immigrated to the United States in 1957. She first moved to Philadelphia, PA where she met her husband John Edward Diamond. They were married in 1958 and headed west to Southern California. They settled in Venice, CA and raised a family.
Jean was a loving mother and took great interest in the raising of her children. She even began working as the secretary at the Catholic Elementary School so the administration of the school would improve the quality of their education. She then embarked on a long career as a Bookkeeper and Office Manager for a Commercial Laundry and Real Estate firm in Los Angeles, CA. Upon retirement in 2003 Jean and John moved to Henderson, NV to enjoy their retirement.
Jean was particularly fond of just jumping in the car and visiting the beautiful Western United States. Jean was a proud American citizen but she held even more pride in her native Scotland. Always quick to share an anecdote from her childhood and forever loyal to The Crown, Jean had a way of bringing you to the Banks of the Clyde with a funny story. Jean always carried Scotland in her heart.
Jean is survived by her six loving children: William Edward Diamond of Sacramento, CA, John Joseph Diamond of Evergreen Park, IL, Geraldine Ann Diamond of Los Olivos, CA, Robert Francis Diamond of Tacoma, WA, Kenneth Andrew Diamond of Fountain Valley, CA and Mary Elizabeth Gallego of Montebello, CA. In addition Jean was the proud grandmother of 13 children.
A memorial mass for Jean will be held Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Hwy, Henderson, NV 89015. A committal service will occur Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
