Passed away March 25, 2016. She was 92 years old.
Born Jan. 2, 1924 in Carthage, Missouri to parents Herbert D. Taylor & Carrie McKenzie Taylor.
In the summer of 1933 the family moved to Joplin, MO where she and her two sisters entered the Joplin school system. She graduated from Joplin High School in 1942. With her mother, sister Dorothy, and her brother Dan, they moved to Pasadena, CA where she entered Pasadena City College for one semester and decided to move back to MO. She then moved to Little Rock, AK where she obtained a Science Degree for Nursing in 1944. The War years were restless for all but she was able to work. And work she did. Besides being a nurse, she was also a “Rosie the Riveter” helping to construct B-17 Bombers.
In 1945 she married, and they became parents to three beautiful children. The late 1960’s allowed her to obtain a certificate as a Medical Secretary/Assistant for a doctor’s office giving her more time to spend with three teenagers who were active in Scout, Rainbow Girls, Scottish Lassies, and DeMolay. All the things they found to do.
She was preceded in death by a baby daughter, her parents, oldest son Thomas, both sisters, and recently her brother Dan Taylor. She’s survived by daughter Ruth Reynolds Powers, Son Dan (Annie) Reynolds, daughter-In-Law Judy Reynolds, 4 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, and three great-grandsons all in Missouri.
