Catherine Mary Stockdale

Catherine Mary Stockdale, age 82, of Henderson, Nevada passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022. She was born February 22, 1940 in a farmhouse, the oldest of four children in Amherstburg, Ontario Canada to Grace (Toffelmire) and William Miller. As a young child, Catherine enjoyed playing softball and spending time with her friends. She graduated from Assumption High School.

On April 5, 1958, Catherine married the love of her life at 18 years of age, James Roy Stockdale, at a church wedding in Amherstburg, Ontario Canada. The couple naturalized to the United States in 1967; where Catherine went on to continue her education, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Business from UCLA. Together the couple were blessed with four children.

To support her growing family, Catherine worked in the banking industry, beginning as a teller. Through hard work and dedication, she worked her way up to Senior Vice President. After over 20 years, Catherine retired from Coast Federal Savings as the Executive Vice President of Operations. In 1989, Catherine relocated to Nevada.

Catherine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was completed devoted to wellbeing of her family. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and spending time with her family. She had a heart of gold; and was a kind and caring person who could light up a room with her smile. She will truly be missed.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Stockdale; father, William Miller; and her mother, Grace Elizabeth Miller. She is survived by her four children: James Randall Stockdale, Jennifer Brown (Robert), Jacqueline Stockdale, and Susan Bigonger (John); siblings: John Miller, Gordon Miller and Barbara Olsen; grandchildren: James Ryan Stockdale (Chie), Kristin Anne Stockdale (Garrett), Josef Dominik Stockdale, Robert S.Brown, Gregory Scott Brown, and Daniel Bigonger; and two great grandchildren: Hana Marie Stockdale and Wesson Layne Brown.

A visitation for Catherine will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services begin at 11:00 AM, both at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. Catherine will be laid to rest at Palm Henderson Cemetery, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015.
