Mabel Alice Monzo, or Snookie, as her family and friends knew her, was an adventurer. One of seven children, she was born to Peter and Alice Monzo of Vancouver, British Columbia in 1933. At 20 years old, she became an American citizen along with her family in Los Angeles, CA. Though she would live out the rest of her life with her soulmate, Sarah Koren in Las Vegas, NV, she loved camping and fishing and would travel all along the West Coast and particularly loved the Pacific Northwest. Snookie didn't meet a dog she didn't immediately love and dote on endlessly. Not one to shy away from creative undertakings, she loved woodcarving and jewelry making and excelled in both. Her other hobbies included bingo and keno and being active in the church. Snookie was quite the jokester and would always find a way to brighten her day with a laugh. On July 3, 2023 Snookie passed away. She will be dearly missed by her sister-in-law, neighbor and friend of almost 70 years, Janet Garza and is survived by her nieces and nephews Michael, Bobbi, Charlotte, Rogene, Janel, Charolet, Rod, Margaret, Linda, Peter, Steve, Rick, Gary and their children.
A memorial service for Alice will be held Monday, August 7, 2023 from 11:00 AM at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015.
