Rebecca Jo Martin

Rebecca Jo Martin, age 57, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014 with her loving family by her side after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born to Leo and Mary Isom on Friday, August 31, 1956 in Benton , Illinois. Rebecca excelled in her career path in retail sales. At one point she was honored on the cover of Palm Springs Life Magazine for her business management skills and her wonderful customer service skills. Rebecca was very creative in so many ways. She loved to create special stain glass art work and enjoyed woodworking- even building the frames for her amazing free hand drawings. Being of Italian heritage, her specialty dishes reflected those of her culture which she proudly prepared in her new kitchen. She was so proud of that dream kitchen and made good use of her time spent preparing delicious dishes for her family and friends to enjoy. Rebecca was a caring soul, always sharing her experiences of her illness with those who needed her wisdom and encouragement. She was preceded in death by her father, Leo D. Isom. Rebecca is survived by her devoted and beloved husband of more than 13 years, Edwin Martin; her Mother, Mary Courtwright; her children Matthew Martin, Eric Martin, and Annie Martin; sisters, Patricia Bowra, Bonnie (Roy) Kroll, and Cynthia Isom; brothers, James (Jody) Carley and Faron (Yukimi) Isom; and grandson, Mark. Rebecca touched many lives and will be truly missed by all those who knew her and who loved her.
