My beloved mother (and my mentor), grandmother and great grandmother, Patricia M Reid of Menifee, CA, passed away surrounded by her daughter and son in law, Cathi and Gil Reilly, on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at their home in Menifee, California at the age of 81. Mom fought a courageous battle with dementia and the side effects of Kidney failure. I especially want to give thanks to Hospice of the Valleys who took care of both my Mom and Dad during their time of need. They are the most amazing, kind, caring group of people to help you in a very emotional and stressful time. She is now free from pain and re-united with her Husband Alexander in Heaven and we praise God for reuniting these two back together.
Patricia was married to Alexander J. Reid in 1958 and were married for 61 years at the time of his passing. They happily began a life together until Alexander passed away from dementia in August 1991. They were blessed with 5 girls and her love for her family was beyond measure. Patricia was an amazing wife and dedicated mother. Family always came first for Patricia and when her husband, Alexander had a tragic car accident in the early 1960’s she had such a strong love for him and dedicated herself to help him defy all odd that were against his recovery. Every decision she made was made first with her husband in mind. They were both amazing parents who instilled strong morals and taught the difference between right and wrong.
She is survived by her children; Cathi Reid Reilly, Pamela Gray, Tricia Ahlberg and Cyndi Goodno along with her deceased daughter Laurie Reid; her grandchildren Kimberley Frano, Breeana Reid, Cherise Goodno, Justin Goodno, Samantha Reid Baker, Philip Santa, Mitch Ahlberg, Christian Gray and Erin Gray; They were also very close to their Great Grandson Maddix Reilly Concepcion, along with Mackena and Mackenzie Goodno, Presley and Walker Torres Emma Gray and Ava Baker along with her sister Theresa Newby and brother Thomas O’Brien.
For many the hole left by Patricia and Alexander’s absence will be impossible to fill.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the chapel on Saturday, March 6, 2021 and the memorial reception will be at the home of Gil and Cathi Reilly on Saturday, March 6th at 12:30 pm.
