Patricia Ann Ramsay of Menifee, California, died peacefully in her home on June 22, 2021. At the time of her passing, she was 86 years of age and was married to her husband of nearly 20 years, James Ramsay. She was born on March 25, 1935, in Galt, Ontario, Canada, and moved with her family to Flint, Michigan at the age of 11.
Lovingly known as Pat or Patty to her family and friends, she was a graduate of Flint Central High School and then the University of Michigan with a degree in Music & Education. Pat went on to teach English and Choir for many years in the Greater Flint, Michigan area, and later in Riverside, California. She was also co-owner of a singing telegram service in the 1980s called the Jingle Belles, with her close friend, Jean Craig.
Pat retired from teaching in 1998 to enjoy the finer things in life – her relationships with loved ones, her affinity for travel, and, of course, her passion for music! She had a beautiful soprano voice, and as a young woman, she performed in small operas and countless musicals. In addition, she sang in several church choirs, including First Presbyterian Church in Flint, MI, the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, CA, and Canyon Lake Community Church in Canyon Lake, CA. She had a lifelong relationship with Christ and relished singing his praises. In 2001, she and Jim moved into a wonderful neighborhood in Menifee, CA, called the Oasis. It was there she became the community choir director for several years, meeting a new group of amazing friends and lovers of music. Also at the Oasis, Pat and Jim joined a travel club and traveled extensively around the world.
Patricia Ramsay is survived by her husband, James Ramsay of Menifee; son Ken (Linda) Moore of Madras, Oregon; son Mike (Christy) Moore of Riverside, California; son Rob (Anita) Moore of Bend, Oregon; daughter Susan (Mark) Ferguson of Riverside, California; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Wright and Mayme Wright-Cameron, and her brother, Lyle Wright.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Canyon Lake Community Church Chapel, Canyon Lake, CA. Pastor David Dick will officiate. Cremation has been conducted at Miller-Jones Mortuary.
