Mary Jane Jones-Terrell, born June 4, 1943 the 11th child and baby of the late Charlie and Della Terrell. Born in Woodworth, LA, she was baptized at an early age at the New Pilgrim Baptist Church, Pastor A.A. Moody.
The family migrated to Houston, TX, and she graduated from Jack Yates High School Class of 1961. As a young adult, she and her sisterfriend Mary Moore made their journey to California.
Mary received her B.A. Degree from National University. After more than 40 years of civil service employment she called it quits and retired from NTC, Fort Irwin, CA, December 3, 2011. That began the next chapter of her life, "FREEtirement." Soon after, she and Deon relocated to Hemet. She started attending Evangequip Bible Fellowship Church under the leadership of Pastor Leon Ainer & Co-Pastor Christine Ainer.
Mary had a loving and generous heart. She was always giving to others. Family and friends were her delight. She loved her family more than anything. She had a passion for baking and cooking and looked forward to sharing her feasts with everyone. Her smile would light up any room and her laugh was contagious.
Mary entered into eternal peace on Thursday, March 31, 2016. Preceded in death by her husband Arthur Jones, Jr. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her; daughter, Twila Argent, Houston, TX; sons, Arthur Jones, III (Angel), Murrieta, CA and Christopher Jones, Barstow; Deon her dog; grandchildren, Jermaine Wimberly (Angela), Jasmyn Christopher, Myricle Calfee-Jones, Nasiah & Nyalie Jones, Gary Ellenbecker; great grandson, Kason Stephens; great granddaughter Jaida Wimberly; sisters; Helen Jackson (Tilmon) San Diego, CA; Pauline Guillory, Houston, TX; brother, Charlie Terrell, Jr. (Vera) Houston, TX; sister in laws, Ruby Terrell, Madeline Faye Terrell, Ethel Terrell and Melba Terrell; adorning niece, Della Pennywell; very special friend Otis Crawford, a host of nieces and nephews and several special friendships that span over her lifetime.
