Born September 1, 1950, in Magnolia, Mississippi, Mary was the middle child of the Late Jessie and Ruby Taylor. Mary moved to California at the age of 21 to pursue her career as an airline stewardess. Mary eventually realized she was too afraid to fly and safely landed as a telephone operator with Pacific Bell, where she was employed for 27 years.
Mary was known for her passion for thrift store shopping, garage sales, and visiting her family in Chicago. She was a major advocate for her special needs grandson Jalon. Mary had an infectious smile and laugh that warmed the hearts of everyone lucky enough to have seen or heard it. She was loyal to all those whom she loved.
Mary leaves behind during the union with their father, James Clark, 3 children; Patrice Pettway, Clarice Clark and Jason (Lesley) Clark; (grandchildren) Olajuwan, Kaija, Jalon, Branden; (great-grandchildren) Aurora, Roman, Amaya, Zaire, Omir; (siblings) sister Pearl (Melvin) Broomfield and her brother Thomas Taylor and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives both old new.
The family will welcome friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Miller-Jones Sun City Mortuary, 26770 Murrieta Road, Sun City, California.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Menifee Valley Cemetery located at 26770 Murrieta Road Menifee, California 92586. Interment will be in Menifee Valley Cemetery, Menifee, CA.
