Joan Dolores Fletcher, 85, of Hemet, California, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2012, at home. She was born on Tuesday, October 5, 1926 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin of German and Norwegian descendants. During her younger years she was a majorette in High School. Joan was employed by Grossmont Unified School District as a special bus assistant for special needs children. Joan was an accomplished artist and has won awards at Del Mar Fair for artistic and craft items. Joan was able to have a book published called, "Li'l Book Redwork", which displayed designs for Redwork stitchery. Joan also has a painting displayed called "Lady of Justice", at the San Diego City Attorneys Office. She was also very crafty with her hands. She made Christmas ornaments for her children and had stories for each. When her kids were in trouble she would call them by her pet names. Each had a name of the opposite sex which meant if that name was spoken they needed to mind. Joan loved her dogs Bumper and Binky. Her family describes her as loving, artistic, too caring, stubborn and generous.
Surviving are son, Michael Wendorf, daughters, Peggy Wendorf, Susan O'Barr and Jayne Syktich, brother, Dale Graves, sisters, Gloria Lagerman and Sandra Graves Albrecht; 7 grand children; 4 great grand children.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Miller-Jones Mortuary in Hemet.
