Jeffrey (Jeff) Scott Pinney, 44 went to be with the Lord on September 10, 2011 while visiting the family cabin in Lake Tahoe, CA. It appears the cause of death was a coronary artery blockage but further tests are being completed.
Jeff was born on November 29, 1966 in San Pablo, CA to Robert and Carol (Tunks) Pinney, but was lovingly raised by his step-father John Cezario. He attended school at De Anza High School in Richmond, CA; graduating in 1984. He eloped with Debbie Wasmuth on September 27, 1985 while serving in the United States Marine Corp. Jeff served his beloved country from 1984-1988. He received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and began his career as a police officer at Indio Police Dept. (1991-1995) before coming to the Hemet Police Department where he retired as a Lieutenant in 2009. Jeff lovingly served His Lord for 20 years at Hemet Valley Baptist Church where he was a deacon and beloved member.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 26 years Debbie Pinney, two children Jacey Chesla (Chris) of Ft. Meyer, VA and Zach Pinney (fiancé Samantha) of Camp Pendleton, CA, two grandchildren Taylor (2) and Christian (7mo), parents John and Carol Cezario of Richmond, CA, a sister Christine Chase of Concord, CA and one brother Jason Cezario of Richmond, CA. He was also blessed by two nieces and one nephew as well as several aunts and uncles.
A celebration of life for Jeff Pinney will be held at Calvary Chapel of San Jacinto located at 1450 W. 7th St in San Jacinto, CA. on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Pastor Dale Garland of Hemet Valley Baptist Church. Burial will immediately follow at Riverside National Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 22 from 4-8 p.m. at Miller-Jones Mortuary in Hemet, CA.
