Harold Leo Clark, age 87, passed away in Hemet, CA on May 22, 2023. Harold, known by friends and family as “Hal” was born in Providence, Rhode Island as one of six siblings, Robert (deceased), Richard, Hazel, Mary Louise, and Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 60 years, Joyce Elizabeth Clark. Harold and Joyce had four children, Elizabeth Olsen (Rex), Charles Clark (LeeAnne), James Clark, and Harry Clark (Heather).
Harold was proud of serving his country as a veteran of the United States Army where he met Joyce. They were married in the chapel at Fort Sam Houston, TX.
He was selected for information processing training in the Army. The skills he gained there launched him into a career as an executive in the aerospace, banking, direct mail marketing and information technology distribution industries.
Harold and Joyce were adventurous and traveled extensively throughout North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia during his career and afterwards in retirement.
Throughout their long marriage they made many lifelong friends and were known for their welcoming hospitality and great sense of fun.
Harold earned three college degrees, including a bachelor’s in Business Administration, MBA, and a doctorate in Higher Education.
He was a fan of classic country music and enjoyed playing the guitar for his family. Harold was a lifelong automobile enthusiast and relished motorcycling and sailing. In retirement, he enjoyed gardening and participating in car club events.
Harold is survived by his four children, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters, two brothers, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, June 28 at 10:00 am at Miller-Jones Mortuary (1501 W. Florida Ave. Hemet, CA). He will be buried at Riverside National Cemetery next to his beloved wife, Joyce.
