DONALD L. LANE Age 82 of Hemet , entered into eternal life on Sunday, August 28, 2011, at his home. Don was born in Oakland, California, March 6, 1929. A former resident of Upland, CA. before he made Hemet his home for 22 years. Don was a graduate of Cal Poly Pomona and served 23 years in the U.S Air Force. He was stationed in Alaska, Wyoming, Germany, Texas, and spent a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1969-1970. Upon retiring from the U.S. Air Force. Don worked in logistics for Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, and spent 2 years in Saudi Arabia working for Lockheed. He also worked for the Rancho Cucamonga School District, and The Victoria Country Club in Riverside. Don was a member of the volunteer organization, The Lions Club, a frequent usher at Our Lady of The Valley Church and a loyal USC football fan. Few things in life made Don happier than, eating his wife's cooking and watching a good college football game, preferably a game with USC winning. Don was a kind, patient, and generous father. Leaving behind daughters, Rachel Palacio of Riverside, Rhea Lane Wilson of Coto de Caza; son, Adolpho Valencia of Azusa; son-in-law, Kevin Wilson; daughter-in-law, Rose Marie Valencia; 9 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Preceded into eternal life by his son-in-law, and very dear friend, Raymond A. Palacio. Don was a loving and devoted husband to the love of his life, and wife of 48 years, Angelina, who preceded him into eternal life in 2008. It brings his family great comfort to know that they are together once again. A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 780 South State Street, Hemet on Monday, October 10, 2011 @ 10AM. A reception to follow celebrating his life to be held at the Hyland Hall. Arrangements are being handled by Miller-Jones Mortuary, 1501 W. Florida Ave, Hemet. Interment will be private.
