Dennis Ralph Woodworth, 75, of Hemet, CA, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2023.
Born in Long Beach, CA, Dennis was the first son of the late Ruth and Louis Woodworth. His family moved to Hemet, CA in the mid-1950s and he grew up in Hemet. He was a graduate of Hemet High School class of 1966.
In 1969, he served in the Army as a specialist in the 173rd Airborne Brigade. Since his time serving in the army, he continued to stay in touch with those he served with while he was in Vietnam.
After returning from Vietnam, he went on to further his education and graduated from San Jose State University with a master’s degree in public relations.
He had a passion for the outdoors and worked for the California Parks Department for 30+ years. Which led him to work in some amazing locations such as Santa Clara County, Malibu, and Red Rock. His love for the Parks Department started at a young age when he was recruited out of high school to work at the National Park in Yellowstone, MT.
In his retirement, he became an avid traveler and found a new passion for traveling, meeting new people, visiting new places, and enjoying the local scenery.
He is survived by his daughter, Vanessa Batilo, his brother Jerald Woodworth, sister Nancy Kutsch, and Grandsons Michael Batilo, and Alex Batilo.
He was a great dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa.
He was very much loved and will be deeply missed.
