Dennis was born on October 11, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan to Loraine and Leon Wolny. Dennis moved to California as a toddler with his parents Loraine and Lucien "Terry" Terrebrood and grew up in LA County. He married the love of his life, Gail in Long Beach. Together they raised 2 sons, Steven and David and 2 grandchildren, William and McKenna. As a young man, Dennis worked several jobs and moved to Hemet shortly after starting at General Telephone Company where he worked until he retired in 1991. He loved being active and soon began to work again: this time around for a lumber yard, a nursery, Hemet Hospice, installing fiber optic cables throughout the US, and assisting any friend or family who needed help. He enjoyed several clubs including Hemet Sportsman, Knights of Columbus, and Butterfield Country Corvette Club, where he met many lifetime friends. After he formally retired from all his side jobs he worked tirelessly on his ranch. Dennis adored watching his grandchildren grow and spending time with his beloved family and friends. He lived a full and long life with Gail, his wife of 59 loving years. Dennis went to glory October 7, 2022 in Hemet, California after a battle with Alzheimer's.
Dennis's kind and generous spirit will be forever in the heart and memories of his family. He is survived by his wife Gail, his mother Loraine Terrebrood and brothers Gilbert (wife Janice) Terrebrood and Paul Terrebrood, his sister Gwendolyn (husband Ron) Butzu, son Steven (wife Christine) and their children Liska ( husband Logan Murray) and Logan, and son David (wife Christa) and children William (wife Jess), McKenna (husband Jesse), and 5 great grandchildren Kaili, Skylar, Tessa, Jesse Jr. and Zadie, and dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Graveside service will be held at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery 2555 S. Santa Fe Avenue, San Jacinto, CA 92583 on November 18, 2022 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity. Dennis cared about many issues and was a strong supporter of the Alzheimer's association, NAMI and Boys Clubs. He felt strongly about helping others.
