Myrta Tomasino, age 90, of Hayward, WI passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Water’s Edge Care Center in Hayward.
Leone Myrta Sawings was born September 2, 1923 in Calumet County, WI the daughter of Archie and Minnie (Otto) Sawings. She was raised on the east shore of Lake Winnebago and graduated from high school in Oconomowoc, WI. While raising her family, Myrta attended Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College in Waukesha, WI where she attended business classes. She went to work for Lakeland Construction as a secretary and office manager for several years before taking a job with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation in Waukesha. Myrta worked as a records manager for many years at the Department of Transportation and then retired in 1987. She was a member of Association of Records Managers and Administrators, Inc., Milwaukee Chapter and attended the Spider Lake Church in Hayward. Myrta was known as kind hearted women who would do anything to help a person in need. She loved to bake and feed family and friends, and strangers who soon became friends. She was a good witness to the Lord and loved her family dearly.
Myrta is survived by her two sons, Dan (Denise) Paullin of Hayward, Jack (Priscilla) Standley of Palmyra, WI; five grandchildren, Daniel (Tia) Paullin Jr., Shawna (Jason) Holmes, Danielle (Brent) Kuczenski, Nicole (Kevin) Ryder and Jack Standley Jr.; 11 great grandchildren, Jared, Jordan, Conner, Eden, Isaiah, Annika, Abby, Devin, Jacob, Isaac and Evangeline; and one niece, Carolyn Holden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands and two brothers.
A private family service will be held for Myrta at Union Cemetery in Brothertown, WI.
