Ron was born January 19, 1934 in Simpson County, Kentucky to Evelyn and Ernest Pitt. He met his high school sweetheart, Maxine, during an F.F.A. hayride and they were married December 21, 1951. During his years in the Air Force, he also dedicated himself to his education and earned a BS in Math with a minor in History and an MA in Education with a counseling emphasis. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1983. After his retirement, he worked as a Staff Engineer at NASA in Houston and later as the Training Division Manager and the Manager of the Computer Based Training Division at Infotec in Colorado Springs.
Ron was always incredibly generous with his time and energy and spent many years of his life serving his community in Monument, Colorado. He volunteered with multiple programs, including a therapeutic horseback riding initiative and the Empty Bowl, and was a member of Kiwanis and Sertoma. His favorite place in the entire world was the Air Force Academy stables in Colorado Springs, where he spent many wonderful years riding and caring for his beloved horse, Colt. He also enjoyed UFO research and visiting his favorite local coffee shop in Monument, CO.
Ronald is survived by his wife Ruby Maxine; his son David and his wife Therese; his son Jonathan; his granddaughters Kristina and Lara and their husbands Jason and Cody; and his great-grandchildren Blake, Brice, and Cameron. His warm laugh and bright smile will be missed by all that knew him.
