Richard Wayne Jernigan, age 66, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on June 25, 1957 to B.R. and Shirley Jernigan. Richard worked for GNB now known as Exide Technologies for over eighteen years until they closed their doors. He then discovered a passion for truck driving and worked for Martin Transport for fifteen plus years. Richard enjoyed hunting and spending time at the deer camp, playing in his billiard league, and had a culinary flare for cooking. He enjoyed spending time during football and baseball season watching his favorite teams: those boys in blue, better known as the Cowboys, the Cardinals and the Razorbacks.
Richard was preceded in passing by his father B.R. Jernigan, his wife Terry Lynn Gundy Jernigan, and brother Randy Jernigan.
Left to cherish Richard's wonderful memories will be his mother Mrs. Shirley Jernigan, son Lance Jernigan and wife Micki, grandson Zane Jernigan, two brothers Robert Jernigan and wife Terressa, Ronald Jernigan, nieces, nephews, cousins, along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
The family will be receiving guests for visitation on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 1:00 PM until time for the graveside celebration at 2:00 PM on the grounds of Hill Crest Memorial Park, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037 with Chaplin Randy Goudeau officiating.
