Ora was born June 24, 1934 to Erby and Eunice Land. She was the oldest of nine children and served as a second mother to the younger siblings. She was a retired LPN and loved working with the elderly both in Home Care and nursing homes. She was a member of First Baptist Church Haughton.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Erby and Eunice Land; four siblings: Charles, Doyle, Chester Land and Patricia Hirsch; and one son, Kenneth Burns.
Ora is survived by her daughters: Charlotte Knoll and husband Ken of Bossier City, Louisiana; Beth Hale and husband Wayne of Tom Bean, Texas, and Debbie Coffman of Wake Village, Texas; grandsons: Craig Knoll and Eric Knoll of Bossier City, Louisiana; Clay Burns and wife Victoria of Atlanta, Texas; Sonny Burns of Linden, Texas; Phillip Kessler and wife Sandi of Longview, Texas; granddaughters: Shauna Hale of Tom Bean, Texas; Lori Watson of Tom Bean, Texas; Karen Willis and husband Tracy of Poteau, Oklahoma; great grandchildren: Hayden Knoll and BJ Britt of Bossier City, Louisiana; Blake, Abby, Alex Watson of Tom Bean, Texas; Grayson Finney and Olivia Noga of Tom Bean, Texas; Ashtyn, Adelyn, and Wyatt Burns of Atlanta, Texas, Makayla King of Wake Village, Texas; siblings: Peggy Stone and husband George of Hurst, Texas; Sue Heinrich of Ft. Worth, Texas; Willard Land and wife Danielle of Redwater, Texas; and Gwen Blalock and husband Butch of Corley, Texas; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many wonderful friends.
Ora rarely missed an opportunity to witness to all she met and invite them to church.
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.” Revelations 21:4
The family will be greeting guests for visitation on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Gevan Spinney officiating under the direction of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana, 71037. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Honoring Ora as pallbearers will be Craig Knoll, Eric Knoll, Hayden Knoll, BJ Britt, Phillip Kessler, Clay Burns, Alex Watson, and Tracy Willis.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Pilgrim Manor Nursing Facility and Regional Hospice for the love and care they gave Ora.
