The very most important part of Momma’s life was being a faithful child of God. She was a wonderful example of a Christian and a true southern lady. Her love was unconditional and she was kind, caring, giving and so wise. Her talents included sewing and cooking. She took joy and delights in her flowers, especially her roses. She loved telling stories and spending time with her family. Never did she miss an opportunity to tell people what the Lord had done in her life.
She was married to her very best friend, Ted Hutches for 55 years. They walked side by side and rarely were one seen without the other.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Bennie and Lois Scroggins, in-laws Theo and Jenny Hutches, brother, Randy “Benny” Scroggins, brother-in-laws, Harvey Van Brocklyn, Johnny Hutches, and son-in-law, James Potter.
She is survived by her husband Ted Hutches, son Timothy Hutches and wife Billie, daughters Mary Beth Hoffman and husband Tim and Sherrie Hutches and fiancé Todd Thibodaux, granddaughters, Mary Grace “Gracie” Potter-Hoffman, Tiffany Bolton-Cole and husband Kevin and great grandson, Collin Cole. Patsy is also survived by her siblings, Don and Kyle Scroggins, Joyce Van Brocklyn, Roger Scroggins, Gale Dzvonick and Rusty Scroggins.
Also surviving her are in-laws, Fern Scroggins, Lina Mearl, Ted Beavers, Van and Debbie Hutches, Don and Carmen Hutches, Henrietta Ezernack, Reba Hoffman and Glenda Potter, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Scroggins, Van Hutches, Don Hutches, Danny Beavers, Michael Beavers and Bruce Sheline. Honorary pallbearers will be Kelly Scroggins and Gary Van Brocklyn.
We would like to extend a very special “thank you” to the following people: Tami Kelly, RN, Whitney, RN at Life Care, Dr. Williams at W.K. Pierremont ER for your compassionate care, staff at Riverview Care Center for comforting Momma and Daddy both, and your kindness will never be forgotten; Glenda Potter and everyone who prayed for momma and our family; Rusty Scroggins for all your help and to every church that had us on your prayer list. God bless you all.
We love you so much Momma. We know we will see you again and take comfort in knowing you are in heaven with the Lord.
“Well done my good and faithful servant.”
