BOSSIER CITY, LA – Services for Mr. Kenneth E. Myers, Sr., 93, will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Gordon Cole, minister of Springhill Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Friday, April 8, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Mr. Myers served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and upon returning, the family moved to Bossier City. He drove a truck for a few years and then became President of Teamster Union Local 568 in Shreveport where he worked until his retirement. He and his wife raised three children. He was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ of Haughton. Mr. Myers was a volunteer for the Bossier City Posse, a division of the sheriff’s department, for many years. He passed away on the morning of April 6, 2016. He was a lifelong resident of Bossier City.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Jo Myers; mother, Edna Bricker; brother, Woodrow Davisson and grandson John B. Nelson.
He is survived by his children, Kaye Nelson and husband Wayne; Anita House and son, Kenneth E. Myers, Jr. grandchildren, Richard W. Nelson, Debra Cory, Brenda Pelt, Sherry Taylor, Rebecca House, Leslie Winkler, Joshua Myers, and Christopher Myers; 15 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice for all the caring and love they gave the last few months.
