Although she was born in Bunkie, Kitty was a life-long resident of the Bossier City area, with a few interruptions when work took her to Mississippi and Tennessee. Kitty married her late husband Fred Raymond of Bossier City, on Dec. 21, 1942, while he was in flight training for the Army in San Antonio. Kitty shared most of her last years joyfully with Fred at their home on Lake Bistineau. They were married for over 57 years, until his death in 2000. Kitty passed away 12 years later in Shreveport, on Feb. 25, 2012.
As the wife of a WWII veteran Kitty understood the value of a joyful life, and she loved to share that joy with others. She was a friend to everyone she met, and will be missed by everyone who knew her. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bossier City.
Kitty was preceded in death by husband Fred Raymond, father L. Paul Dyson, mother Bessie Ernestine “Tine” Dyson, brother Sammy Dyson, and sister Ernestine Dyson.
Kitty is survived by three sons; Cliff Raymond of Sugar Land, Texas, and wife Lois; Paul Raymond of Doyline, Louisiana, and wife Georgia; and Ray Raymond of Grand Prairie, Texas and wife Theresa. She also leaves seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Chance Raymond of San Antonio, TX, Aaron Raymond of Shreveport, LA, Seth Raymond of Grand Prairie, TX, Sheldon Raymond of Grand Prairie, TX, Reagan Raymond of Grand Prairie, TX, and grand-nephew Luke Robey of Doyline, LA.
