Karen "Kari" Noreen Burling

Karen “Kari” Noreen Burling entered this world on January 24, 1950, and passed away on May 14, 2023, leaving behind all who loved her. She was one of five children born to parents, Daniel and Roy Faye Mooney.

Kari was a member of Asbury Methodist Church and had worked as Account Receivable Manager for Specialty Oil Co. for twenty-seven years. She enjoyed painting, going to the casinos, and her annual outings to Arkansas with her mother and sisters.

Kari is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell; her father-in-law, Charles Burling; and her parents. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of fifty-five years, Don Burling; sons, Donald Charles Jackson Burling and wife Miranda, and Charles Jacob Russell “Rusty” Burling; sisters, Melissa Sexton and husband Larry, Sandy Petitfils and husband Ray, and Beth Tremble and husband Randy; brother, Dan Mooney, Jr.; grandchildren, Sierra Burling, Chase Burling, Dakota Burling, and Ava Burling; mother-in-law, Arlene Burling; and her beloved dog, Rayne. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A memorial service for Kari will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Billy Pierce. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.

The family wishes to thank the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Dept. for all the phone calls, texts, and concern shown to the family during this difficult time. They would also like to thank Jackie Martin of Willis Knighton Hospice for her compassion and care.
