Services will be conducted for Mrs. Janet Jett at St. Jude Catholic Church, 3800 Viking Drive, Bossier City on Saturday, March 20, 2010. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM at the church and a funeral mass will be held at 2:00 PM, officiated by Father Pike. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Janet Jett was born on September 28, 1934 and was called home on March 17, 2010, on one of her favorite holidays, St. Patrick's Day.
Janet Jett was affectionately known as “MiMi” to her family. She moved from Meadville, PA to Washington State when she was 14 years old. She met her beloved husband on a blind date in Las Vegas, Nevada while he was stationed at Nellis AFB. They were married for 51 wonderful years, traveling around the world while in the Air Force and in retirement running their Antique and Collectible shop, “Jett’s Collectibles” for many years. She had a special love for music working in music stores for many years. She met Pearl Bailey, Elvis Presley, Ray Charles and many others before they became famous. She spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jerry Jett; her mother, Veronica Dunn; daughters, Jamie Jett; Jackie Jett-Milam and husband Terry Milam; grandson Logan McCole, sister Susan Wright; brother Leland Dunn, many nephews and nieces, and her cherished Irish Setter, “LADY”, who will keep her seat warm for her.
The family would like to thank Bonnie Smith and Dr. Rheddy of LSU Health Sciences Center, Dr. Melanie Smith, Dr. San Pedro, and the nursing staff at the WKMC Bossier ICU for their compassionate and loving care of their mother.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church in Bossier City.
Pallbearers will be Janio Jarquin, Michael DiGrazia,Mark Middlebrooks,Steve Jett,Kenny Squires and Dr. Robert Palmer, Jr.
