Era Beth Wallace Thompson

Era Beth Wallace Thompson, 83, passed away on September 13, 2016. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held at Hill Crest Funeral Home on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Ken Norton and Miles Holladay will be officiating the service. Visitation will be held at Hill Crest Funeral Home in Bossier City, La. from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Hill Crest Memorial Park.

Era Beth was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and was raised in Benton, Louisiana and was a lifelong resident of Bossier Parish. She was a 1951 graduate of Benton High School, where she played for the girls basketball team, and a 1956 graduate of LSU-Baton Rouge, where she earned a degree in business education and was a member of Tri Delta sorority. She retired from the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Department and was a former member of the Benton Presbyterian Church. Era Beth was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Bossier City and the Seekers Sunday School class. She will be remembered for her kindness and her knitted and crocheted baby blankets for family and friends. Era Beth was also a faithful fan of the LSU Tigers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donn G. Thompson; parents, Arthur M. Wallace Sr. and Era Hays Wallace; and sister, Margaret Nell Wallace Thompson.

She is survived by her twin brother, Arthur M. Wallace Jr.; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Marston Wallace; and stepson, Richard C. Thompson and wife Christine. She is also survived by step-grandchildren, Michael G. Thompson and wife Lauren, Chad Thompson, Amie Thompson Miller and husband Mark, Jim Porter and wife Melinda, and Janice Porter Skinner. She is also survived by step-great grandchildren, Graydon P. Thompson, Conner Trace Thompson, Tanner N. Thompson, Cole Miller, Jackson Miller, Zach Porter, Zoey Porter, and Aidan Skinner.

She is also survived by nieces, Margaret Wallace Jones and husband Brian, Kathryn Wallace Givens and husband Bill, Rebecca Wallace Rosen and husband Alex, and nephew, Arthur M. Wallace III and wife Cheryl; and great nieces and nephew, Elizabeth Jones, Rebecca Jones, MaryLynn Wallace, Katie Wallace, Ashley Wallace, Lyle Rosen, and Lucinda Rosen.

Pallbearers are Arthur M. Wallace III, Brian W. Jones, Bill Givens, Alex Rosen, Richard Thompson, Michael G. Thompson, Chad Thompson, Mark Miller, Jim Porter, Hollis Grisham and James D. Southerland.

Honorary pallbearers are her six surviving first cousins: W.A. Jones, James N. Hays, James Galloway, Hardy Hays, Donald Ward and Lewis Ward.
