Emma Jean Wright

Emma Jean Wright, 93, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed peacefully from this life into the loving arms of our Lord, surrounded by her loving family on May 22, 2024. Born on September 1, 1930, in Tullos, Louisiana, she was the cherished daughter of Floyd Stanley, Sr. and Linnie Mae Harp.

Jean graduated from business school and went on to work 35 years in hospital administration at LSU Medical center. She was a loving mother and grandmother who was devoted to her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Emma Jean was a member of Springs of Grace Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and her church family. Though she will be dearly missed her legacy will live on through those who loved her most.

Left to love her and carry on her memory is her daughter, Carla Schillage (Frank); daughter-in-law, Dorothy Wright; sister-in-law, Peggy Ashworth (James); grandsons, Eric “Doo” Wright (Angela), Christopher “Dub” Schillage (Rachel), Joshua “Pooh” Wright and granddaughter, Delena “Meisha” Wright. She also leaves behind 4 great granddaughters, Emma-Leigh and Kylyn Wright and Elizabeth and Charlotte Schillage; 3 great grandsons, Kian Wright, Jude and Reed Schillage and great great granddaughter, Cambreigh Wright. Also carrying on her memory are her nieces, Pam Renz (Jim), Vicki Bailey (Dr. Bill) and Robin Ashworth.

Jean was greeted in Heaven by her parents, her loving husband, Carl Wright; son, Michael Wright; sister, Betty Jo "Polly" Harp and brothers, Floyd "Bo" Stanley Jr. and Jerry Harp.

Services will be held to celebrate the life of Emma Jean Wright at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Pastors Grant Rose and Jeff Segner, of Springs of Grace Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. The family will be receiving friends beginning at 10:00 am, prior to service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Frank Schillage, Eric Wright, Chris Schillage and Josh Wright.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Gables at Spring Lake for their love and kindness.
