Connie M. Jordan Merritt

Visitation will be at Hillcrest Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at Eastwood Baptist Church, 2810 Hwy 80, Haughton, LA on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.

Connie loved everyone she met and always had a smile on her face. As a child she attended Calvary Baptist Church and saved at the age of nine. Connie currently attended Eastwood Baptist Church and touched many lives there. She attended Woodlawn High School and was a proud member of the Class of 1977. She began her banking career at Commercial National Bank. She took several years off to raise her family and then the Sewell children. She began working at Citizen’s National Bank in 2006 until she became sick. She had a great impact on the people she met whether at church, school or the community.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Merritt on January 23, 2011 and her father, Rudolph Jordan. She is survived by her mother, Mildred Louise Paddie Jordan. Children, Clint and Sarah Morris, Krista Merritt and Jared Merritt. Her siblings, Mavis Young, Susie and Payton Delrie, Debra Ebey, Randy and Karen Jordan, Sheila Rogers, Karen Watkins, Charlynn and Jerry Baker and Karla Jordan. Her grandchildren, Caleb, Brooklyn and Braden Morris. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.She is also survived by her father-in-law, Darlton and Inez Merritt and the entire Merritt/Culpepper family.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Sewell, Matthew Sewell, Greg Grubbs, Larry Ross, Kenny Jenkins, and Steve Braidwood.
