Charles was born January 19, 1951 in Converse, Louisiana to Bertie Garcie Arehart and called home on December 10, 2023 in Shreveport, Louisiana after a sudden illness during his courageous fight with brain cancer.
Charles attended Airline High School and joined the Army immediately following. He bravely enlisted with his friend Ray May, and served our country in Vietnam. After learning to weld in Vietnam, he later found his passion of being a journeyman Electrician in 1988. He retired after 35 years of being an electrician and a member of the IBEW Local 194 while serving on the Executive Board until retirement.
Charles was a charter member of St. Jude Catholic Church. He enjoyed being an ACTS brother and team member. He was also a Master Mason and a member of Knights of Columbus.
To know Charles was to know love. Charles’ love for our Lord and Savior was admirable by many. Alongside his passion of work, his daughters and grandchildren were the center of his world. His daughters, grandchildren, family, and his many friends will always remember him as social and outgoing with a remarkable sense of humor. Charles never met a stranger. He was the most humble and giving man. Most comment on his unwavering faith in the Lord and his abundant joy in his Christian walk. He was very confident in his Eternal Homecoming, right until the end. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and scuba diving and going to the beach with his family and grandchildren. His contagious smile and laughter will forever live within our hearts.
He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Donna L. Simpson; mother, Bertie; grandparents Lee and Ruth Garcie; and brother-in-law, Jack Campbell.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Casey Arehart-Causey and husband, TC; Nikki Arehart and significant other, Aaron; grandchildren, Bryson and wife Breanna, Brayden, and Charley; great-grandchildren, Addi and Hudson; sisters, Edra Campbell, Mary Stewart and husband Scott, Ruth Brickner and husband Jim, and Sophia Arehart; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to his friends for helping him along his difficult journey this past year. Each of you made his day a little brighter.
Pallbearers will be Charles’ special friends, Keith Stewart, Johnny Jones, Randy Stewart, Larry Robinson, Billy Mixon, Jay Nissan, Hunter Roberts, and Kevin Snell. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryson, Brayden, and Aaron.
“Good people pass away; the Godly, often die before their time. But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come. For those who follow Godly paths will rest in peace when they die.”
