Services to celebrate the life of Barbara Mae Lunsford Hays will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Rev. Robert Beadle officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. until service time.
Barbara was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on August 8, 1934, and passed away peacefully on February 1, 2022, in Bossier City, Louisiana. Barbara attended Fair Park High School and graduated as salutatorian from Benton High School. A rewarding secretarial career led her to several positions before retiring from the Bossier Parish School Board. Barbara’s greatest joys came from her family of whom she was extremely proud. Barbara and her husband Keith loved to travel and went on many fun trips together including Switzerland, on cruises, and family camping trips to Camp Albert Pike.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kessel and Ruby (Chandler) Lunsford; her loving husband of 53 years, Keith Hays; two brothers and one sister.
Barbara is survived by her son, John Spencer Hays; daughter, Jeannette Bange and husband Steve; grandchildren, Jacee Hays Cahn (Richard), Trey Hays (Kristal), Wesley Bange (Megan) and Keith Bange (Kelley); great grandchildren, Maggie, Emma Caroline, and Hays Cahn and Caroline Bange; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Wesley Bange, Keith Bange, Trey Hays, and Richard Cahn, and grandnephews, Justin and Keaton Dunn.
