Funeral services for Alton M. Moore will be held 10 A.M. Friday December 24, 2010 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Rev. George Rogers, pastor, Koran Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Thursday at Hill Crest Funeral Home. Interment will be in Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Mr. Moore was born September 9, 1921 in Altus, OK to parents Cynthia Iva (Lowe) and James Ira Moore and passed away at his residence in Doyline December 21, 2010. He was a member of Koran Baptist Church and the Rev. Davis Sunday School Class. Mr. Moore was a U. S. Army Air Corp veteran of WW II having been awarded the Purple Heart, American Defense Service Medal, Asian Pacific Theater of Operations Medal, Phillipine Liberation Medal with the Bronze Star, and the Good Conduct Medal.
Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Sylvia Burns, Noble Philyaw, and Olivia Veuleman, brother Hermit Moore, and grandson Michael Moore. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mrs. Eva M. Moore, four sons, Fred Michael Moore and wife Mary of Greenwood, Wayne Alton Moore and wife Charlene of Elm Grove, Keith Lowe Moore and wife Judy of Ruston, and Walter Ellis Moore and wife Kay of Doyline, daughter Ann Michele Meredith of Florida, sister, Clovis Smith, brothers Levon Moore and Ravelle Moore, fourteen grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
