Alfred Alexander Smith

BOSSIER CITY, LA – Alfred A. Smith went to be with his Lord and savior on July, 24, 2012. A celebration of Alfred’s life will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel in Haughton on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 1:00 pm with burial to follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Frank Himmel of Viking Drive Church of Christ will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends on Friday, July 27, 2012 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.

Alfred was born October 22, 1925 to James Alexander and Margaret Duncan Smith in Littleton, CO. He was the second of four children. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Willene Smith. He is survived by his son Randy Smith and wife Jackie, daughter Anita Shohrati and son Sean Smith all of Bossier City, LA., brothers Roland Smith and wife Lola of Benton, LA., James Smith and wife Claire of Branson, MO., sister Margaret Rolland and husband Buddy of Blanchard, LA., four grandchildren Zachary Smith of Marina Del Ray, CA., Mitra Vashi and husband Ankur of Navarre, FL., Jonathan Smith of New Orleans, LA., and Laleah Shohrati of Tucson, AZ., special nephew Tommy Smith of AZ and a host of family, friends and coworkers he met along his way to retirement from General Motors.

Alfred was a member of Viking Drive Church of Christ. He will be remembered for his kind, loving, patient personality and relentless devotion to his wife Willene and to his family, his church and his God. He will be truly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.

Pallbearers will be Zachary Smith, Jonathan Smith, Ankur Vashi, Lee Crews, Paul Richmond and Ross Harkrider.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Life Care; Willis Knighton North MICU; Dr. Pierre Blanchard and staff.
