Steven Lee Minnick

Steven Lee Minnick, 62, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 12, 1951 in Harrisonburg and was the son of the late Otis and Frances Morris Minnick. Steve lived his entire life in the Harrisonburg area, and had been employed with Metro Pants, Kawneer and Glass and Metals. He was a sports and lottery enthusiast. Steve is survived by his daughter, Renee Bowers and her companion, Andrew Hinkle of Franklin, WV; her mother, Joan Dove Minnick of Harrisonburg; three grandchildren, Brandy, Bradey and Breena Bowers; a sister, Margie Heatwole and her husband, Wiley, of Harrisonburg; two brothers, Bill Minnick and wife, Helen, of Linville, and Jimmy Minnick of Richmond. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Kesling and a brother, John Minnick. The family will receive friends 6-8:00 PM, Tuesday evening, November 26, at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 27, at the Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Clarence Moyers officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
