George Raymond Estes

He was born August 15, 1939 in Ohio and was the son of the late Maryanne Vasas Estes.

He was an Army Veteran and an active member of the VFW Post 632 and the American Legion in Harrisonburg. He lived the majority of his life in Harrisonburg and retired from Dunham Bush after 32 years of employment.

He is survived by his children, Julia A. Keister and husband, Henry of Timberville, and David Estes and wife, Christina Cline of Broadway; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 pm on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Wayne Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Military rites will be provided by Dayton American Legion Post #27.
