Born August 10, 1928 in Lebanon, PA, he was the son of the late James and Maria (Tsirinkas) Gardner, and preceded in death by his brother, John Gardner.
He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving on the USS Cabot, a retired employee of the Hershey Chocolate Factory, with 40 years of service, and currently worked for Penn National Race Track, since its opening 38 years ago.
Tom was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church, the Annville American Legion Post 559, William Snyder Lodge #756 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Temple, and the USS CABOT Association.
Surviving is his wife, Pearle M. Gardner; stepson, Steve A. Smith, of Lebanon; sister, Julia Lembesis, of Harrisburg; 2 brothers, Mike and Nick Gardner, both of Lebanon; numerous nieces and nephews; and many grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 12:00 PM Monday, November 8, 2010 in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Camp Hill. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
A viewing will be held 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Sunday, November 7, 2010 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg; with a Masonic Service at 8:30 PM; and a viewing at 11:00 AM Monday until time of service in the Cathedral.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1000 Yverdon Drive, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
