He was born in Harrisburg on December 10, 1946 to the late Loin and Agnes (Sanker) Conrad; and preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas and William Conrad; and sisters, Laverne Gales, Norma Jean Lanshe and Agnes Simmers.
Ted graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School in 1964. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corp Reserves from 1966 to 1972. Ted worked for PPL for 41 years and retired as a Lineman Leader.
Ted helped coach Little League Baseball, enjoyed golf and had a hole in one in Kansas playing with his son. Ted was a Pittsburgh Panther fan and enjoyed going to their football games. Ted was also a Steelers and Pirate’s fan. Ted loved going to the beach with family every summer for over 50 years.
Ted was a member of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church and the National Corvette Museum and loved his 2007 Corvette.
Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Linda (Haas) Conrad; daughter, Renee Smith (Terry); son, Jeffrey Conrad (Brenda); 4 grandchildren, Kendall Smith, Devin Smith, Nolan Conrad (Paige) and Abigail Conrad; brother, Richard Conrad (Harriet); sister, Ida Beistline; sister-in-laws, Connie Conrad and Dorothy Larson (Eric); 2 brother-in-laws, John Lanshe and Fred Haas (Janice); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:00 PM Friday, July 12, 2024 at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church, 2800 Paxton Church Rd., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. A viewing will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, July 12, 2024 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg.
