She was born February 18, 1935 in Cofield, NC; she was the daughter of the late Hersey F. and Zellor O. (Brown) Sears; and preceded in death by her husband, Linwood Nelson; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Surviving is her son, Linwood E. Nelson, wife Terry Smoak Nelson, of Cofield, NC; 2 granddaughters, Marion Renee Nelson and Morgan Lynn Nelson, both of Cofield; her sister, Mattie E. Hoskins, of Harrisburg; her brother, Vernon Sears, wife, Linda, of Dothan, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 2, 2013 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg.
Funeral Service will be held in North Carolina, the Garrett Funeral Home, 205 NC Hwy 42 W, Ahoskie, NC 27910 will be handling the arrangements. Burial will be in the Sears Family Cemetery, Cofield, NC.
