Born February 23, 1973 in Harrisburg; raised in Rutherford; he survived by his parents, Donald G. and Joanne (Jacobs) Marsico; two sisters, Debra Marsico Moeller (Chuck), of Savannah, GA and Karen Marsico Moldovan (Jim), of Mt. Joy; brother, Anthony Marsico (Darlene), of Chattanooga, TN; and loved by his many 5 nieces, Chelsea, Jenna, Nina, Jackie, and Angelena; and 3 nephews, Josh, Anthony Jr. and Dante.
Matt was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Marsico Jr., who he deeply missed.
He was a graduate of Central Dauphin East High School and received his BS in Anthropology from Millersville University. Matt traveled to Mexico and its culture became his lifelong interest.
He was a former employee of Pratt and Whitney and recently self employed as a general contractor and a care taker for his parents.
He was active in the VFW, Sons of Italy, American Legion, and loved bocce ball and played with the Hershey team for many years.
He was a Boy Scout, played football, baseball and basketball; he was a diehard fan of Notre Dame and the Philadelphia Eagles. He loved gardening, growing vegetables in his garden, solving crossword puzzles, hunting, fishing, reading cultural books, St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Savannah and was deeply philosophical.
Matt will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, December 23, 2017 at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM Saturday until the time of the service at the church. Private burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery on February, 23, 2018
